Christian Hansen (general)

Christian Hansen was a highly decorated General der Artillerie in the Wehrmacht during World War II who commanded the 16. Armee. He was also a recipient of the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knights Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Christian Hansen retired from the Wehrmacht onDecember 1944, because of illness. He died in 1972.
